'We are just back from one of the best holidays of lives. Fantastic India and wonderful Kerala - all brought together in an amazing package tailored for just the two of us by Kalypso Adventures. Nirmala organised and anchored the whole expedition exuding a true sense of skill, knowledge and capacity. We knew before we left home that this was going to be special. Peter was our driver and guide - and much, much more. Thank you Peter for taking us for the best biryani we have ever had (or ever will have) and for showing us both the wildlife and the way of life of India. We really appreciated that, as you got to know us and our interests, you were always quietly working away fine tuning our trip. We had a magnificent time with a wonderful range of accommodation, safaris and visits.' 

 Kalypso was FANTASTIC! From my first correspondence with Nirmala and 57 subsequent emails later, we couldn't have asked for a better organised trip -especially since we were traveling on very short notice.
Jeffin Antony was our guide and you couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable person. He knew every trail, bird, flora and fauna, he worked a mean machete when necessary.
Das, the driver was another reason our Kalypso tour went so well. He drove expertly up and down some windy roads which could have made me really ill.
The camping, which we called "glamping" was how I like to camp. The food was delicious and plenty of it.
The highlight of the week, aside from the trekking, was the Christmas dinner complete with Christmas cake and a bottle of wine.

4 of us, all of a certain age, spent ten days touring the Kerala region with our Kalypso guide, Brijesh. It was our first experience of India and we had put our faith in Kalypso to arrange everything. We were delighted by the detailed and considerate arrangements that Kalypso had made for us, both for the travel and for the homestay experiences. Brijesh was first class and his knowledge of the region and its culture was detailed and interesting in every aspect. Whether we were visiting a temple or a fish market or simply wanting to visit some ordinary shopping streets and enjoy the atmosphere, he was always accommodating and attentive to our needs and indeed to our safety - the traffic can be a bit hairy when you want to get across a busy road. He looked after us extremely well, nothing was too much trouble. He had a great sense of humour too. Kerala is a beautiful part of the world and Brijesh did a great deal to help us to fully appreciate what we were seeing and doing in the time that we had. We will look back on this visit with very fond memories. If you are thinking of visiting Kerala we would strongly recommend that you do it with Kalypso - a professional and high quality company with fantastic guides and drivers. A five-star operation - in fact we would give it six out of five if we could!  

We want to let you know that we had a wonderful time on our South India Eco & Culture tour. The journey was just magic. Vipin was a very special intuitive leader who demonstrates and imparts a great passion for his country. Deepu was outstanding with his driving skills and sense of fun. You could not have put a better trip together for us. Every day was exciting as well as a great learning opportunity. The guides had special knowledge that enhanced our trip. The hotel staff were so friendly and responsive. We loved all the points of interest at each place. The cuisine was very special and we are now such advocates for South India cooking. Thank you once again.  

We would like to say THANK YOU for 5 amazing days. We really enjoyed our cycling & kayaking tour and the houseboat. It was a great and unforgettable experience.The organisation was perfect. The cycles and Kayaks were high standard and very good in shape. Accommodations were lovely and unique and very luxury. Each place was different and special with friendly staff and delicious food.

Our guide Vineeth did a great job!!! He told us a lot about the places and also about Kerala in common. He was always helpful with special needs we had and changed tour details according to our wishes. Thanks, Vineeth!!!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We think of the entire tour as being Swallows and Amazons, in India, by bicycle. The sheer diversity and the immediacy of exposure to the people and landscape, and (for us), the exotic birdlife, made this a complete adventure. One can't experience all of that through a car window.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Throw yourself into the whole thing but don't over-exhaust yourself in the early days of cycling.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced
environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Kalypso Adventures has the interests of Kerala, and its people, at heart and seeing it all by bicycle minimised our environmental impact. We cycled, we looked, we walked and we bought a few things that re grown or made by local people.
