The hiker thinks – “and into the woods I go to lose my mind and find my soul” – Kalypso hopes to handhold such travellers in their explorations in our part of the world.

For we believe trekking offers these benefits:

Fitness: Climbing hills, rock-hopping and hours of following trails give you a whole-body workout, improves strength, agility, cardio-fitness, and aids weight reduction. Who would want to work out in the close-confines of a gym after an oxygen-rich forest environment!

Reduced Stress: It has been scientifically proven that “exposure to nature can counteract the negative effects of stress and anxiety.” The single-minded focus required in trekking helps to cleanse the mind of clutter and focus it on the positivity of the beauty around.

Social and cultural impact: Trekking in a group fosters lifelong friendships and encourages acceptance and tolerance. Sharing memories and conversations engender deeper understanding of cultures. Trekking to history-rich sites, wildlife and birding destinations give a unique perspective on ancient cultures and the eco-system of different places. The unavailability of social media in the wilderness reorients your   priorities in life.

We exhort the youth to trek with us and “be lost in the right direction.”
